Optimal culture conditions of Piriformospora indica for volatile compound release to promote effective plant growth

چکیده
Piriformospora indica, which is an endophytic fungus that grows on various media in the absence of a host, emits plant growth promoting volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Kaefer medium (KF) has been shown to be most suitable for P. indica growth; however, different may differentially affect fungal metabolism turn influence VOC profiles indica. To date, how VOCs emitted from cultured not well characterized. Here, we show poor nutrient (PNM) promoted more effectively than potato dextrose agar (PDA) or KF medium. By contrast, total biomass and root fresh weight were increased 1.8-fold 2.1-fold, when co-cultivated with PDA comparison PNM medium, respectively. Furthermore, sucrose culture downregulated fold-induction ratio by VOCs.

Cystoderma amianthinum, one of edible fungi belongs to Agaricaceae of Basidiomycota, has a good taste and flavor. This study was carried out to obtain the basic informations for the optimum mycelial growth of C. amianthinum. The optimal conditions for the mycelial growth were 25℃ and pH 5 in potato dextrose agar (PDA). C. amianthinum showed the favorable growth in the PDA and yeast malt extract...
